Sui Move Builder Paris: A Week of Advanced Move and a First Place for Orizon

From February 9 to 14, 2026, DeVinci Blockchain hosted Sui Move Builder Paris on the Pôle Léonard de Vinci campus. The one-week bootcamp focused on building decentralized applications with Sui. Funded by the Sui Foundation and organized by DVB, it brought together 40 builders who wanted to deepen their command of Move, the smart contract language used on Sui.

The bootcamp was the final step of a selection that began in November 2025 with two hackathons run in parallel in Paris and Marbella. The best builders from that process were then gathered in Paris. They came from several European countries, including France, Switzerland, Spain, Poland and the United Kingdom, and from schools such as King's College London, Oxford, the Technical University of Munich, EPFL and Epitech. Six of the 40 participants were ESILV students and DVB members.

A week of advanced Move

The program was designed for developers who already knew the Sui stack and wanted to reach a professional level. Workshops ran Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 5 pm, and were led by two engineers from the Sui ecosystem, Domenico Romeo and Álvaro Lillo Igualada.

Sui is a layer 1 blockchain launched in May 2023 by Mysten Labs. It stores data as objects, which lets the network process independent transactions in parallel. Move, its smart contract language, follows a resource-oriented model designed to make digital assets safer to handle.

The curriculum covered smart contract and project architecture, advanced Move patterns, dApp data indexing and the integration of contracts into TypeScript web front ends. It also included building blocks specific to Sui: Walrus, a decentralized storage protocol; Seal, a framework for encryption and on-chain access control; and Nautilus, a layer for verifiable off-chain computation.

The Sui Move Builder Forge Paris Hackathon

The week ended with the Sui Move Builder Forge Paris Hackathon, a night hackathon held on campus, where teams presented the projects they had built during the bootcamp. DeVinci Blockchain announced three winning teams: PoC Innovation with DePatreon, DVB2 with Orizon, and LosMarbellos with SuiPatron.

Joint 1st place: Orizon

Team DVB2: Alban Derouin, Eden Baudin

Orizon is a decentralized social platform inspired by Patreon. Creators publish content that only their subscribers can access, and fans subscribe in USDC to unlock encrypted posts and chat privately. Alban Derouin and Eden Baudin, both engineering students at ESILV, shared first place with the PoC Innovation team.

The project relies on two Sui building blocks. Seal encrypts posts (text, images and videos), so that only subscribers can decrypt them. Walrus stores the content in a decentralized way, which lets subscriber-only content circulate without depending on a central server. The Move smart contracts follow an event-sourced design, in which the events emitted on-chain serve as the record of the app's activity.

On the user side, the team used passkeys and zkLogin for sign-in, Enoki to sponsor transactions so that users do not pay network fees themselves, and SuiNS for human-readable identities.

A student association trusted with an international bootcamp

The bootcamp is part of a collaboration between DeVinci Blockchain and the Sui Foundation that started several months earlier. With Sui Move Builder Paris, the foundation entrusted a student association with organizing and hosting an international bootcamp. For the foundation, the goal is to help developers who contribute to the Sui ecosystem sharpen their technical skills and to raise the quality of the applications deployed on the network.

The initiative was led by Alexandre Mourot, a developer ambassador for the Sui Foundation, while DVB members Adrian Verdes and Romain Thépaut handled the organization in Paris. ESILV covered the result in an article on Orizon's first place.
